NEWS and EVENTS:

New Member Classes:  Pastor Dena will be conducting a new member class for persons who may be thinking about joining Nativity or who are just wanting to learn more about the ministry at Nativity.  These classes will be held at 9:00 am on February 5th, 12th, and 26th at 9:00 am.  Please let Pastor know if you are interested or have any questions.

First Holy Communion Classes:  Pastor Dena will be conducting classes for those children who are not receiving communion yet, on March 4th and 18th at 9:00 am.  These classes are held for the children and their parents.  Please speak with Pastor Dena if you have any questions or are interested in your child attending these classes.

Souper Bowl of Caring will take place during the service on February 5th.  The Youth will be leading the service.  During the service we will be collecting both monetary donations and donations of canned foods to help support both CAMP and MUST.  Please support our Youth and these two local ministries.

National Youth Gathering will be in July and Nativity is sending five persons - Amelia Eskildsen, Britni and Dereka Parrilla, Emily Reese, and Tina Palm - chaperone.  Through the month of January the "Extra Dollars" in the offering plate will go towards helping the Youth raise money for this mission trip.

Valentine's Youth Dinner:  The next fundraiser led by the Youth is the annual Spaghetti Dinner in honor of Valentine's Day at 6:00 pm on February 11th.  Tickets will be sold in advance and at the door.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5 and older.  Children under 4 are free.  Please see any of the youth for your tickets.

The 2012 Flower Chart has been posted in the Narthex.  Vases are $15 each with two available each Sunday.  There are still spaces available each month.

Please send articles for Nativity Notes directly to the editor, Becca Childers, at peach@uga.edu .  Articles should be sent by the 24th of each month prior to the newsletter's publication.

Nativity's Handbell Choirs have a Facebook Fan Page!  Find us at Handbells of Lutheran Church of the Nativity - Austell.  Become a fan, and get notices on when handbells will ring, and information on other concerts of interest in the area.

PRAYER MINISTRY:

You may send prayer requests to the church office through the link on this website.  Your requests will be added to the Prayer Insert in the weekly bulletin.

Nativity tries to include all requested names in the Prayer insert.  We ask that if congregational prayers are no longer needed for a person, that the church office be notified so that their name may be removed.

To Join our Email Prayer List, send your name and email address to Tom Sukalac at trsukala "at" bellsouth.net.  Please also email Tom with any prayer concerns you would like to share.

Please place the name of any service person you would like remembered in prayer in the envelope outside the church office.  Please indicate branch of service, duty station and rank as well as relationship, if any, to you.  A list will be compiled and kept in the Silent Prayer Room in Haffly Hall as well as posted in the church, on the prayer insert, and in Haffly Hall.
